Where there is will there is way
Oli- couple these days is seen engaged in Surya Electricity shop, Mobile shop and Digital Photo studio just beyond two shops at the main crossroad of Jangrahawa in ward no 5 located in Rajpur Rural Municipality in Dang district.
Within a short span of five years oli couple built a concrete house. They have a big poultry farm, goat farm, fish pond consisting of 1000 fishes.
Around the fish pond they have banana plantation, dragon fruit cultivation, lemon tree farm also which has generated a lot of income for Oli family. The annual income of this family is around Rs 10,0000. It is indeed one of the most exemplary deeds and worth replicating for other entrepreneurs in the locality.
Puja Oli and her husband Bhupal Oli wish to give the credit of their successful entrepreneurship to Aatmanirbhar LBS (former Rural Women Development Center or Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra) for financially boosting their multipurpose enterprises.
The success story of Puja Oli family is grounded in the dark and grim days in 2072 BS when Puja Oli was struggling for survival and by chance, she joined the Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra as its member at the center no 45 in the Rajpur branch and started her own enterprise of a mobile shop by taking a loan of Rs 50,000 from Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra for the first time. This was also the time when Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra as an NGO was working for poverty alleviation through microfinance services in the rural setting.
The mobile shop was very helpful for Oli family as it started generating income for them. The Chinese mobile which was sold for Rs 1200 in Kathmandu was sold for Rs 3000 to Rs 3500 in Rajpur.
Puja Oli has currently taken a loan of Rs 33,0000 from Aatmanirbhar LBS to operate its various enterprises. “Aatmanirbhar LBS has been a great boon for our family,” says Puja oli with a smile on her face.
However, the success did not come to Puja Oli all of a sudden. Her husband was born in Salyan district, whose family had suffered a lot during the Maoist insurgency. Once Maoist militants had even abducted Oli’s mother.
Then they had to go to Simla in India and then they had stayed in Nepalgunj for some time. Then the real struggle began when Puja Oli was married to Bhupal Oli. Ultimately Gramin Mahila Uthen Kendra (currently Aatmanirbhar LBS) played a crucial role in transforming Puja Oli family drastically within few years by providing the required financial support without collateral.
